Street photography is a new genre for me since 2022. Initially I found photographing complete strangers in public spaces quite daunting, but with practice it has become much less so. In general a positive and happy demeanour goes a long way to allaying people’s apprehension about being photographed - most often I get an apology from them for intruding on my photograph.
Most of my experience so far has taken place in the relatively small nearby cities of Ely and Cambridge. Very much a countryside lover at heart I now have reason to look forward to any urban visits.
